Black Hawk Excavation Stabilization Shotcrete

GEOCONSTRUCTION

In order to accommodate a new parking structure in downtown Black Hawk, Colorado, Harrison Western and UIT worked together to excavate an outdated parking structure and stabilize an adjacent 135′ mixed rock and overburden highwall. The excavated area was supported with a mixture of soil nails, rock bolts, mesh, and shotcrete. The project also used an innovative rock-breaking technique in the interest of public safety. UIT installed sand and oil interceptors in the new parking structure base.
