A section of road around Carter Lake was closed for safety concerns when loose rock on the adjacent wall fell and created a dangerous overhang. Harrison Western excavated the rock overhang using a hydraulic excavator hoe ram from the top of the wall, and then hand-scaled the rock below. In order to protect the existing paved roadway from further damage, HW placed imported cushioning material during active excavation activities. The wall was finished with a 4″ layer of shotcrete.
